WESTMEATH’S JOHN HESLIN may be wearing a moon boot to help him with a foot injury, but it didn’t stop him taking part in the #PressUpChamp challenge, a charity initiative between the GAA and Diabetes Ireland.
Last night, as Westmeath prepared for their upcoming All-Ireland senior football championship Qualifier against Fermanagh, Heslin and his team-mates posted 2,123 press ups to get the challenge off the ground.
The likes of David Moran (Kerry), Philip Jordan (Ex Tyrone), Peter Kelly (Kildare), Kevin Cassidy (Ex Donegal), Matt O’Hanlon (Wexford), Conor Mortimer (Ex Mayo) and Joe Brolly are all scheduled to take part with the charity are calling on people (and teams) of all ages across the GAA community to do as many press-ups as they can.
Once it is videoed and posted to social media with the #PressUpChamp hashtag, people taking part can challenge their team-mates, family and friends, rival players and clubs to beat their score while texting the word “PressUp” to 50300 to donate €4 to Diabetes Ireland.
